Financial Benefits
Our signature financial benefits offered at UNSW give back to you, in acknowledgement of the contribution you give to us.
Superannuation
The high level of superannuation provided is one of our signature benefits. All UNSW employees (excluding casuals) are entitled to receive 17% employer superannuation contributions. New employees are entitled to select their preferred Superannuation fund or UniSuper, the industry fund for the Tertiary Education sector. UniSuper provides regular superannuation and retirement education seminars on-site at Kensington, as well as a wealth of information online via their website.
Leave Loading
Our staff receive an additional end of year payment, made at 17.5% of four weeks base pay (pro-rata for new hires during the year) up to a specified cap. Traditionally leave loading is paid to staff in the pay-run during or near to the Christmas holiday shutdown period and is in line with the conditions in the Enterprise Agreements.
Salary Sacrificing initiatives
Our salary sacrificing initiatives allow you to pay some or all of the offering before tax. As a staff member you can enjoy priority access to four high-quality long day care centres, SDN Children’s Services. This includes discounted fees paid through a salary sacrifice arrangement.
We also offer the option to salary package a fully maintained vehicle under a lease known as a novated lease. Car parking is also available on campus with the ability to pay via fortnightly payroll salary sacrifice deductions.
